bathtubgirl's journalSaturday, March 31, 2001My day started out with a relaxing bath and ended with pure city exhaustion.Below are some pics from the Tropicale Cafe in Silverlake where Snow and I met Eva, my sexy Basque art director, and her handsome New York actor boyfriend, David, aka WackyTubBoy. After having coffee and dessert at the Tropicale Cafe, which was absolutely fabulous and cheap to boot, we drove downtown to the arty yet isolated Downtown Loft District. I am trying to get used to the idea of living in such a harsh urban landscape. Despite my rebel tendencies, I prefer the village life. To be more specific, I prefer the European village life. Perhaps it will be good for me to be thrown into this non-cushy city atmosphere and then after a year or so I can blast off. Anybody want to house BTG in Europe? Ok, I will stop dreaming now. Both Eva and David are excited about finding a shared space downtown. I totally trust their judgement for the direction of BTG Productions, even though I was experiencing a bit of shock as we walked through the desolete corridors along 6th avenue. When Snow and I got home, I cheered up a little (after a brief argument and a crying spell) when I found this website. I think these buildings are completely gorgeous. They take pets too! But the question is, will they rent a space to a Detroit girl who dances in her bathtub with the hopes of raising the spirit of Mae West? ![]() |
