"And a rock feels no pain and an island never cries." -- The Great Simon and Garfunkel I had my usual wake up call when I heard the pitter patter of my Schnauzer's footsteps. I didn't go to the spare room to undulate in my sheets after the walk, which I do in sleep walking fashion, but I kissed Drew on the forehead and asked him if he would like to be my date for breakfast. He woke up quickly and by 7 we were on our way to the Quality Inn up the street where a British flag hangs from the front balcony in unison with the American flag and the Arizona state flag. One of our favorite chefs in the area, Chef Dan, formerly of the Desert Flour Bakery, bought a share with a few other comedic Cockney types to run the two room dining hall. We shared lox and bagels as well as eggs benedict with the classic Canadian bacon and poached egg with hollandaise sauce. I've been sleeping for the past few hours since we arrived home. Zzzzzzzzzzzzz I work afternoons through the week and am lucky enough to be on break from my school for an entire month. When we resume to class in August I will have only four days for completion of the course. I should be studying for that exam, the bloody one I mention in every entry, but I would much rather chat with you, whoever you are. < previous | next >
